Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years in land surveying, with at least three years in supervision/management.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • LS certification preferred; LSIT considered with significant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all survey projects from initiation to completion, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating field and office activities.
  • Schedule workload daily with the office survey team and communicate status with clients.
  • Oversee preparation of survey and mapping documents such as legal descriptions, plats, ALTA’s, final maps, and corner records.
  • Ensure accurate processing and management of office survey data according to company standards.
  • Direct analysis and development of alignment or boundary survey base mapping with precision.
  • Research land survey-related data from local agencies, including notes and title reports.
  • Ensure accuracy and quality of AutoCAD drafting for exhibits, plans, and topographic data.
  • Serve as the primary client contact for survey-related matters to ensure satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships in the industry and assist in proposals.

Job description

Title: Survey Manager

Location: Inland Empire, CA

Salary: $85,000-$133,000 along with a lucrative bonus program, 9/80 schedule, hybrid work schedule (one day a week in the office in most cases), and culture of training and development

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Survey Manager to lead growing survey team! We are looking for a dynamic professional who is committed to excellence in surveying, lifelong learning, and fostering a collaborative environment.

As a Survey Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing all survey-related activities, scheduling staff, and coordinating project deliverables.

In this position, you will oversee the execution of multiple simultaneous projects and tasks. You will play an active role in business development by building relationships, delivering excellent projects on time, preparing proposals for new work, and coordinating with clients.

As a Survey Manager, you will be instrumental in facilitating communication, tracking project progress, and assisting in the coordination of resources and schedules.

  • Team Leadership : Coordinate workload and assignments daily with the office survey team. Schedule priorities of all office staff and communicate status & updates with clients.
  • Project Management: Oversee all survey projects from initiation to completion, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating field and office activities.
  • Office Survey Services: Oversee preparation of survey and mapping documents such as legal descriptions & plats, boundary surveys, ALTA’s, final maps, lot line adjustments, record of surveys, and corner records.
  • Data Management: Ensure accurate processing, and management of office survey data, following company’s standards and procedures, for use in project deliverables.
  • Survey Mapping and Analysis: Direct the analysis and development of alignment or boundary survey base mapping, ensuring precision and compliance with project requirements.
  • Research and Documentation: Oversee the research of land survey-related data from local agencies, including survey field notes, title reports, recorded maps, filed documents, and property descriptions.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy and quality of AutoCAD drafting for exhibits, plans, profiles, and topographic data, as well as the computation of volumes and preparation of digital terrain surface models.
  • Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on survey-related matters, ensuring clear communication and satisfaction with project outcomes.
  • Business Development: Develop and maintain professional relationships in the industry. Execute projects with high quality and on schedule. Prepare scopes and budgets in response to requests for proposals meeting aggressive deadlines.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in land surveying, with at least three years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software, with the ability to oversee and review drawings, layouts, maps, and other survey-related deliverables.
  • Certifications: LS (Licensed Surveyor) certification is preferred; LSIT certification may be considered with significant experience.
