Job summary

Cobb County Government's DOT Engineering Division, Survey Department, seeks an experienced leader to manage and direct survey project execution, guiding both office and field tasks. You will coordinate with divisions and county departments, develop work plans and procedures, monitor training, and administer contracts for equipment, supplies and services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; 7 years of progressive engineering experience.
• Managerial and supervisory experience in transportation roadway and capital improvement projects.
• Experience in field data collection, data processing, site preparation and staking, record keeping, boundary evaluation and researching legal records.
• Software experience: Robotic Data Collector, Carlson Data Collector, Spectra Precision F50/F30 Robotic Total Station, Leica TCA1100, Total Station, GNSS Tablet – Carlson SurvPC GPS unit; Microstation V8i, Bentely InRoads Suite, Bentley OpenRoads, and Listech Liscad.
• Licensed Surveyor preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Manage and direct survey project execution.
• Support survey group in office and field tasks; coordinate with Cobb DOT divisions and county departments.
• Administer contracts for equipment, supplies and services.
• Enforce safety policies; monitor work environment and investigate accidents.
• Provide customer service; respond to inquiries about division policies and procedures.
• Represent the division at meetings and public events.
