Job description

STV is seeking a Survey Manager for our Survey Group in either our Acworth, Duluth, or Atlanta, GA locations.

Qualifications:

• At least 4 years of experience with Atlas, Boundaries, Construction Staking, and Topographic Surveys.
• Proficient in operating survey equipment including Trimble Robotic Total stations, Trimble GPS, levels, and basic computer skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, read and understand plats and construction plans, and interact professionally with clients, landowners, and representatives.
• Strong work ethic, team-player attitude, and ability to multitask and lead multiple field personnel to meet deadlines.
• Problem-solving skills and innovative thinking.
• Physical ability to walk long distances over various terrains carrying up to 50 lbs. in all weather conditions.
• High school diploma/GED required; Georgia DOT experience is a plus.
• Valid Driver's License, good driving record, ability to pass drug and background checks.
• Boundary survey experience, GDOT database prep preferred.
• Extensive Civil 3D CAD and/or AutoCAD drafting experience; Microstation OpenRoads/InRoads and Trimble Business Center experience are pluses.
• Ability to interpret topographic maps and create detailed sketches of structures.

Daily responsibilities:

• Perform duties assigned by the RPLS to complete projects accurately, safely, professionally, and timely.
• Lead drafting efforts, coordinate field work, prepare calculation sheets, and improve plat development processes.
• Lead survey crews, instruct on survey techniques, and manage survey data uploads/downloads.
• Utilize Trimble equipment for elevation and boundary determinations.
• Collect quality field data, document work meticulously, and perform simple calculations.
• Maintain equipment and vehicles, ensure proper supplies, and perform routine maintenance.
• Communicate progress and issues with project surveyors and technicians.
• Prepare reports, timesheets, and paperwork daily.
