Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of experience in survey-related work.
  • Experience with Georgia DOT projects is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Job description

STV is seeking a Survey Manager for our Survey Group in either our Acworth, Duluth, or Atlanta, GA locations.

Qualifications:
  • Must have at least 4 years of experience with Atlas, Boundaries, Construction Staking, and Topographic Surveys.
  • Proficient in operating survey equipment including Trimble Robotic Total Stations, Trimble GPS equipment, levels, and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, read and understand plats and construction plans, and interact professionally with clients, landowners, and representatives.
  • Strong work ethic, team-player attitude, and ability to multi-task while managing multiple field personnel to meet deadlines.
  • Problem-solving skills and creative thinking.
  • Physical ability to walk long distances over various terrains, carrying up to 50 lbs., in all weather conditions.
  • Minimum high school diploma/GED required.
  • Experience with Georgia DOT projects is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record, able to pass drug and background checks.
  • Boundary survey experience, with GDOT database prep experience preferred.
  • Extensive Civil 3D CAD and/or AutoCAD drafting skills required.
  • Trimble Business Center experience is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret topographic maps and create detailed sketches of structures.
Daily Responsibilities:
  • Perform survey duties as assigned by the RPLS, ensuring accuracy, safety, professionalism, and timeliness.
  • LSIT or higher preferred.
  • Lead drafting efforts and point processing (conventional and GPS).
  • Coordinate field work, prepare calculation sheets, and assist with plat development.
  • Instruct survey crew members on techniques and serve as crew lead.
  • Manage survey data uploads/downloads and use Trimble equipment to determine elevations and boundaries.
  • Ensure quality data collection, maintain documentation, and perform basic calculations.
  • Maintain equipment and vehicle, ensuring proper supplies and documentation.
  • Communicate progress with project team and prepare reports and timesheets.
