Job summary

Bryant Associates, Inc. is seeking a Survey Instrument Operator for our Baltimore, MD office. The position supports boundary, ALTA, topographic, and construction surveys using GPS, total stations, scanners, and other surveying equipment.

The role requires at least 1 year of survey experience and a high school diploma (additional surveying coursework is a plus). Daily field travel and safety compliance are essential, with responsibilities including crew support, staking, and equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• Supplemental course in surveying a plus

Responsibilities

• Complete site control, boundary reconnaissance, construction staking and topographic surveys
• Perform 3D scanning, and other surveying services in support of engineering work
• Review of maps, field notes, and exhibits; performing construction staking calculations for improvements and utilities
• Support surveying and mapping activities for boundary surveys, topographic mapping and construction staking projects
• Assist the Crew Chief with all aspects of the daily crew assignment
• Work independently as a one-person crew as required
• Operate, on a daily basis, various surveying instruments
• Maintain survey equipment and supplies
• Work in a safe manner and obey all safety regulations
• Continually advance knowledge with upgrades in technology
• Complete internal and external training as required

Salary Range: $25.00 To $35.00 Hourly

As an Instrument Operator you will be an integral part of Bryant Associates Land Survey Department in our Baltimore, MD office, where we provide our clients with a full range of surveying and mapping services.

The Instrument Operator will assist the Crew Chief in the performance of boundary, ALTA, topographic, right-of-way acquisition, transmission line, transportation, and construction surveys utilizing the latest equipment and surveying technology.

RESPONSIBILITIES:(Other Duties May Be Assigned)

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Must be proficient with the use of survey equipment. (GPS, Robotics, Total Stations, Levels, Scanners, and Data Collectors)
• Desire to work in a team environment
• Observes company and client safety requirements
• Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to pass a driving record check
• Ability to pass a drug test

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of 1 year of survey experience required
• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
• Supplemental course in surveying a plus
