Job summary

NV5 in Alpharetta, GA is seeking an experienced Survey Group Manager to lead and grow the Alpharetta Survey Department. This leadership role oversees conventional surveying, GPS, LiDAR, UAV, and related services, ensuring client satisfaction and high-quality deliverables.

The ideal candidate has PLS licensure, 10–15+ years of survey experience, strong GDOT knowledge, and proven ability to develop staff and win new business through relationships with public agencies and private clients.

Qualifications

• NC Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) licensure is required.
• 10–15+ years of progressive surveying experience.
• Proven experience managing multiple survey crews, project managers, and office staff.
• Strong knowledge of survey principles, methodologies, and industry standards.
• Significant experience with GDOT transportation projects and requirements.
• Experience with conventional, GPS, laser scanning, LiDAR, and UAV survey services.
• Strong project management, budgeting, and proposal development experience.
• Demonstrated business development and client relationship management skills.
• Experience providing QA/QC oversight for survey deliverables.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and survey-related software.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all survey operations for the Alpharetta office.
• Supervise and mentor Project Managers, Survey Technicians, CAD Technicians, Crew Chiefs, and field staff.
• Monitor production levels, staff utilization, and operational performance.
• Coordinate training and professional development for survey staff.
• Participate in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new team members.
• Enforce safety policies and operational procedures.
• Provide QA/QC oversight for all survey deliverables.
