Job summary

Bolton & Menk in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Survey Field Technician to support field activities, perform construction staking, boundary location, ALTA, and topography for diverse projects, and document all survey work.

You will operate survey instruments, process field data, and travel to sites. Qualified candidates have an Associate degree or 3 years of experience, knowledge of Trimble, CAD software, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Land Surveying Technology or Civil Engineering Technology, or 3 years surveying experience.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent time management, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of Trimble equipment and software.
• Experience using CAD and survey software AutoCAD, Civil3D, and MicroStation.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform field assignments including construction staking, boundary location, ALTA, and topography for various project types.
• Collect and process field measurements and data for engineering and surveying projects.
• Operate survey instruments (Total Stations, Data Collector, levels, GPS) and resolve issues.
• Research existing survey and engineering records.
• Organize and transfer files between data collectors and internal project folders.
• Travel frequently to work sites and other project locations.
