Job summary

McKim & Creed is hiring a Survey Field Technician II (Instrument Person) to support field crews across Wisconsin and beyond. You will assist the Crew Chief, maintain equipment, and ensure accurate data collection while prioritizing safety and regulatory compliance.

As part of an employee-owned firm with ESOP benefits, you will join a team in a growth-oriented environment with opportunities to travel and develop survey skills using total stations and GPS.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist a Crew Chief in the operation of a field survey crew.
• Prioritize quality (accuracy, thoroughness, meeting regulatory requirements, public relations), safety, and maintenance of equipment.
• Operate equipment, maintain a safe work environment, protect and maintain equipment and vehicles, and accurately and efficiently collect field data and locate features.
• Some overnight travel may be required.
• Walk extensively outdoors year-round through various terrains and in extreme heat and cold.

What You Need

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Good technical skills.
• Process-oriented traits including being steady, helpful, analytical, a problem solver, able to work alone when required, methodical, consistent, detail oriented, precise, and appreciative of structure.
• EFB data collection experience preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, an acceptable motor vehicle record, a cleared background check and a negative drug test result.
