Bowman Consulting is seeking a Director of Survey in Reno, NV. This leadership role oversees all surveying activities and staff for the assigned business unit. You will ensure high-quality deliverables, manage budgets, and drive client relationships to secure repeat business.

The position requires a senior-level surveyor with a strong business acumen, license, and extensive experience in land development and project management. Join a collaborative, growth-focused team in the Reno area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying or related field preferred.
• Ten+ years of land surveying or related land development experience, with at least 2 years in project management.
• Licensed surveyor in relevant state.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Carlson principles.
• Experience managing a Survey Department preferred.
• Strong surveying business acumen: proposals, RFPs, billing, reports, collections.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the surveying function of the assigned business unit.
• Provide leadership and direction including strategy, budgeting, staffing, and deliverables.
• Assist with marketing of the firm’s capabilities to win new clients and strengthen existing relationships.
• Coordinate with internal departments to meet project requirements.
• Meet with prospective clients, prepare proposals, establish budgets and schedules.
• Oversee all surveying activities, review project changes, and manage staffing and budgets.
• Supervise survey project personnel to meet high professional standards.
• Define scope of multiple, complex land survey projects and monitor progress.
• Prepare project status reports and monthly billings.
