Duties & Responsibilities

The Survey Design Technician 3 is responsible for creating precise survey and building models/drawings and designs using Revit, AutoCAD, Civil3D, and TopoDOT. This role emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and adherence to safe working practices while ensuring compliance with company policies and ISO standards. The technician collaborates closely with project teams, manages tasks within budget and scope, and contributes innovative solutions to meet company and client needs. The role supports projects related to roadway, building models, and 2D/3D floor plans, as well as processing 3D laser scanning data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and draft survey drawings or 3D models using Revit, AutoCAD, Civil3D, and TopoDOT, ensuring they meet standards for approval by federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Register 3D laser scanning projects using Leica Cyclone or Register 360.
  • Work with drafters and designers under surveyors' supervision to support the practice.
  • Review and interpret design manuals, technical documents, and jurisdiction details.
  • Accurately size and specify design requirements.
  • Adhere to all company policies and ISO compliance standards.
  • Strive to meet or exceed individual utilization targets within budget.
  • Participate in regular project meetings to discuss progress and issues.
  • Coordinate with other practices and sub-consultants as needed.
  • Demonstrate team commitment and actively participate in meetings.
  • Complete tasks on time, within budget, and according to scope.
  • Compare field data to base plans for accuracy.
  • Design and draft construction drawings and models for approval by authorities.
  • Collect data such as measurements, sketches, notes, and photos to support projects.
  • Interpret technical documents and design manuals effectively.
  • Ensure design requirements meet project and regulatory standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years relevant work experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD

Preferred:

  • Understanding of drafting fundamentals
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Photoshop, Google Earth

Certificates & Licenses:

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Pre-employment drug screening; background and motor vehicle checks may be required
