Job summary

McClure is seeking a Survey Crew Chief to support projects in the Iowa City metro and surrounding area. The role offers training for candidates with construction or technical backgrounds, with advancement into field leadership for surveying teams.

You will work closely with Project Managers and Engineers to define field scope, read civil drawings, perform stake outs, and maintain safety and professional standards on site. A valid driver's license and willingness to travel are required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of field staking procedures for land surveying and construction.
• Ability to learn skills from past technical or construction backgrounds.
• Understanding of civil drawings, site utilities, earthworks and construction codes.
• Excellent communication and ability to read and interpret documents.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant contact with Project Managers and Engineers to define the field work scope.
• Read and interpret civil drawings and ensure field scope aligns with design.
