Survey Crew Chief – Wexford, PA

Verdantas is an environmental consulting company focused on water resources, land use, energy transformation, and infrastructure. We are looking for a Survey Crew Chief to lead surveying operations in Wexford, PA.

Responsibilities

• Project Planning and Coordination: collaborate with project managers to understand survey requirements, allocate resources, and prepare field projects.
• Team Management: lead and supervise a survey crew, conduct training, and foster a collaborative environment.
• Field Surveying: conduct surveys using total stations, GPS, drones, and 3‑D scanners, ensuring compliance with specifications and legal requirements.
• Quality Control: implement quality control measures, review data, and resolve discrepancies.
• Equipment Maintenance: maintain and calibrate instruments, coordinate with equipment manager, and keep tools in good condition.
• Client Interaction: communicate with clients, provide updates, and address concerns to ensure satisfaction.
• Safety Compliance: enforce and promote safety protocols during fieldwork.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in surveying, geomatics, or related field; higher education preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in land surveying, including at least one year of project management.
• Proficiency with surveying instruments and software.
• Strong leadership and problem‑solving skills.
• Comfortable working outdoors and occasionally in an office environment.
• Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 80 lbs. occasionally.
• Valid driver’s license; drone license preferred.
• Familiarity with relevant regulations and best practices.

Salary Range: $33.65 per hour, commensurate with experience and licensure.
