Job summary

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) seeks a Survey Crew Chief to lead field survey operations, including ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, boundary and topographic work, and construction layout under the supervision of the Registered Professional Surveyor.

You will operate Trimble GPS, total stations, scanners, and UAVs to collect accurate data and ensure efficient field execution. You will prepare detailed notes, diagrams, and data files while adhering to safety standards and SOPs.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of survey crew chief experience.
• Knowledge of land surveying principles and practices.
• Knowledge of CAD principles, practices, and instruments.
• Ability to operate motorized equipment.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Lead field survey crew and operate GPS, total stations, scanners and UAVs.
• Maintain detailed notes, diagrams and file management of collected data.
• Follow SOPs and health and safety standards.
• Collaborate with the Registered Professional Surveyor and other crew members.
• Work outdoors under varying field conditions.

As a Survey Crew Chief for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you will work both independently as well as with crew members conducting the field survey work relating to ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, boundary, topographic, route surveys, and construction layout under the responsible charge of the Registered Professional Surveyor. You will be responsible for the efficient operation of the field crew using standard operating procedures and current health and safety standards. The daily duties include the operation of, Trimble GPS, total stations, scanners and UAVs to accurately collect relevant data in a concise manner. Other duties include detailed notes, diagrams and file management of collected data.

The responsibilities and requirements include:

• At least 5 years of survey crew chief experience;
• Skilled in the use of GPS devices, data collectors and/or Total Station;
• Work requires independent judgment and initiative;
• Knowledge of the principles, techniques, and practices of land surveying;
• Knowledge of the principles, practices, and instruments used in computer aided drafting;
• Knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices and construction specifications, plans, and regulations related to construction;
• Knowledge of industry specific safe workplace principles and practices;
• Albility to operate motorized equipment;
• Ability to work outdoors under various field conditions;
• Valid Driver's License.
