Job summary

Arcadis seeks a Survey Coordinator / CADD Technician to join our Atlanta team. You will perform survey calculations, produce plats, and prepare topographic base maps for our engineering design team.

You will conduct deed research, write legal descriptions, and process survey data from field crews. The role includes input of deeds and plats, verification against field evidence, and CADD preparation using ground run, GPS, LiDAR, and scanning methods.

Role description

Arcadis seeks to hire a Survey Coordinator / CADD Technician to join our team in Atlanta, GA.

In this position you will perform survey related calculations, produce survey plats for various high-level clients, and prepare topographic base maps for our engineering design team. You will also perform deed research, write legal descriptions and process survey data collected from our field teams. This position is responsible for the input of various deeds and plats and comparing these results with field gathered property evidence which may affect property rights and boundary line. The suitable candidate will assist with CADD preparation of final mapping using ground run, GPS, photogrammetric, aerial and ground based scanning LiDAR data collection techniques. Final mapping may include boundary, topographic, planimetric or design related deliverables.

Role accountabilities

This position requires a basic understanding of the field-to-finish processes, techniques, and software associated with the production of survey data. You should be detail oriented, able to work decisively and independently with some supervision, possess a strong willingness to collaborate with other team members, be attentive to quality and willing to take on responsibility. You will be presented with leading edge technology and access to state-of-the art software tools. Therefore, this position is ideal for a career minded entry to mid-level performer wishing to establish a career position with a leading international firm.

Qualifications & Experience
Required Qualifications
  • 1 or more years relevant experience.
  • Experience working with survey field crews and production.
  • Must be proficient in the use of AutoCAD/Civil3D and/or Bentley OpenRoads software.
Key Required Attributes
  • Strong understanding of surveying mathematics, data adjustments, property boundaries, surface modeling, analyzing quality of data, and processing of field data, including GPS.
  • Posses strong CADD production skills, with a keen eye toward quality control and accuracy.
  • Ability to read and write detailed and accurate legal descriptions.
  • Ability to perform deed research, both online and at local jurisdictions.
  • Ability to deliver the superior quality and accuracy in work demanded by our high-level clients.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and multitasking skills.
  • Has acquired or is interested in working towards relevant certifications (SIT, CST, etc.).
  • Be an engaged and driven team player who will respond positively and enthusiastically to training to stay current with technology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Bentley OpenRoads a plus.
  • Proficient in the development of plats and drawings using the filed data of total stations, GPS, & aerial, and scanning equipment.

SIT or career path in Surveying preferred.

Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
