Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers is seeking a survey technician to provide technical and office support for survey projects. You will assist in preparing deliverables, drafting with MicroStation and AutoCAD Civil 3D, and ensuring data accuracy for review.

Field checks and data analysis are part of the role, with opportunities to handle more independent tasks over time. The position requires an Associate degree or equivalent experience, 2+ years in a survey role, and strong communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree, certificate, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 2+ years of experience in a survey technician or related role.
• Proficient knowledge MicroStation required; experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
• Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm with overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform survey tasks with minimal guidance from the Survey Project Manager and Project Surveyor.
• Complete intermediate-level drawings and calculations using OpenRoads Designer/MicroStation, supplemented by AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Review and verify the accuracy of data before submitting for review.
• Prepare detailed field packages, legal descriptions, and exhibits.
• Conduct occasional field checks and provide feedback to field crews.
• Compile, analyze, and manipulate survey data for use in reports and deliverables.
• Assist with deed research and abstracting, creating base maps, and processing data into final drawings.
