Job summary

Pape-Dawson Consulting Engineers, LLC is seeking a Survey Technician to support survey projects in the Fort Worth area. You will assist with data collection, prepare field packages and exhibits, and perform detailed drawings and calculations using MicroStation and AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of survey experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines. The role typically follows a 8am–5pm schedule with possible overtime.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree, certificate, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 2+ years of experience in a survey technician or related role.
• Proficient knowledge MicroStation required; experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Demonstrates initiative and independent problem-solving skills for moderately complex tasks.
• Ability to work Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm with overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform survey tasks with minimal guidance from the Survey Project Manager and Project Surveyor.
• Complete intermediate-level drawings and calculations using OpenRoads Designer/MicroStation, supplemented by AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Review and verify the accuracy of data before submitting for review.
• Prepare detailed field packages, legal descriptions, and exhibits.
• Conduct occasional field checks and provide feedback to field crews.
• Compile, analyze, and manipulate survey data for use in reports and deliverables.
• Assist with deed research and abstracting, creating base maps, and processing data into final drawings.
