Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC in El Paso, TX is seeking a Survey CAD Technician III to join our geospatial team. The role focuses on supporting field and office staff by producing survey deliverables using advanced CAD tools.

You will report to the Project Manager, help ensure accuracy and compliance, and contribute to client satisfaction by delivering high-quality plats, drawings, and alignments. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of relevant experience and a solid command of AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• 5+ years field and office experience on route surveys, boundary analysis, DTMs, and construction layouts.
• Strong computer and technical skills; AutoCAD Civil 3D is required; MicroStation is a plus.
• Proficiency in technical math; geometry and trigonometry are a plus.
• GIS platforms familiarity is a plus but not required.
• S.I.T. certification is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Process data and produce final plats, drawings, legal descriptions and alignment drawings.
• Monitor field crew production and ensure quality assurance under supervisor guidance.
• Coordinate with supervisor to meet client-specific demands and project standards.
• Perform QC checks of plats and deliverables and prepare survey deliverables.
• Support office and field staff by processing incoming information and delivering results.

Responsibilities

As a Survey Technician, you will support office and field staff by processing incoming information and producing final land surveying project deliverables. You will report to the Project Manager and perform technical tasks utilizing the latest technology in the A/E/C industry. You will help increase project efficiency and client satisfaction by:

• Processing data utilizing SAM standards, including the evaluation of accuracy and sufficiency, all while ensuring compliance to applicable land survey project and industry principles under the direction of your supervisor
• Monitoring field crew’s production and quality assurance
• Preparing survey plats and drawings, legal descriptions and alignment drawings
• Performing quality control checks of plats, drawings and deliverables prepared by other technicians
• Coordinating with supervisor to ensure client-specific demands are being met
