Job summary

GPI is seeking a Survey CAD Technician for our Survey Department with at least 2 years of experience to work out of our Morris Plains, NJ office. The successful candidate will process field data into CAD for survey plans and documents and support project schedules under a Project Surveyor.

The role includes Terrestrial LiDAR processing, Existing Conditions Surveys using Civil3D and MicroStation, and 3D modeling and data extraction for civil engineering and surveying applications, with emphasis

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience using Autodesk Civil3D, Bentley OpenRoads/OpenSite Designer, or equivalent software.
• High school or equivalent education required.
• 3D modeling software experience is favorable.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite programs is favorable.
• Experience with civil/site projects is favorable.

Candidates must have civil engineering or survey CAD drafting experience and possess good verbal communication skills; work will include processing and importing field data into a CAD environment in the development of survey plans and documents. Work will be project-based and schedule-driven. The successful Technician candidate will work under the direction of a Project Surveyor. • Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
• Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
