Thomson Surveying, Ltd., a full-service Land Surveying firm located in Rosemont, IL, has an opening for a Survey CAD Technician with 1 or more years of survey experience. This position involves technical support for providing complex CAD support in preparing engineering/survey plan sets. MicroStation/Geopak experience is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Development of survey plans and construction documents working on complex CAD projects under the direction of a Professional Land Surveyor.
• Work efficiently, multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment.
• Perform work in an accurate and timely manner.
• Handle multiple assignments with competing priorities.
• Maintain company CAD standards throughout the projects.

Key Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of progressive survey work experience or Associate’s Degree in CAD related field.
• Understanding of topographic and boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, subdivisions, construction layout, easement, and vacation plats.
• MicroStation/Geopak experience is required.
• Exceptional client service skills as well as in a team environment.
• Highly motivated and ability to work independently with minimal supervision once trained.
• General knowledge of computer systems and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and clear communication skills.
