Job summary

Binions is seeking a Surveillance Technician to maintain and repair the casino and security surveillance systems. You will perform routine cleaning, preventative maintenance, and assist in installing cameras and related equipment in casino and security areas.

The role requires access to ceilings, attics, crawl spaces, and good working knowledge of computer software; electronics background preferred with one year of experience in surveillance systems.

• Electronics background or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Experience in surveillance systems maintenance and installation.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the Surveillance Technical Manager for daily work schedule and projects.
• Maintains and repairs casino and security surveillance systems as directed.
• Performs routine cleaning and preventative maintenance of VCRs, monitors, cameras, PTZ motors, processors and peripherals.
• Assists in ordering and stocking cleaning supplies and spare parts.
• Plans, places, and installs cameras and support equipment in new or reconfigured areas.
• Responds to emergency service calls.
• Keeps confidential information about personnel, projects and programs.
• Assists Operational Shift Supervisors as needed.
• May perform duties of an Operational System Agent.
• Follows all departmental policies and procedures.
• Advises Director of Surveillance on current and future projects when needed.
• Position involves extensive walking, bending and standing.

Job description

• Responsible for proper maintenance and repair of the casino surveillance system and the security surveillance system as directed.
• Performs routine and systematic cleaning and preventative maintenance of video cassette recorders, video monitors, video cameras, pan/tilt motors and gears, system processor and controls, and system peripheral equipment.
• Assists in the ordering and stocking of necessary cleaning supplies and spare parts for existing equipment.
• Assists in the planning, placement, and installation of cameras and support equipment into new or reconfigured casino and/or security areas.
• Responds to emergency service calls.
• Maintains confidential information on all corporate Security and Surveillance personnel, projects and programs.
• Assists all Operational Shift Supervisors as needed.
• As required, performs the duties of an Operational System Agent.
• Performs all duties in accordance with Binions departmental policies and procedures.
• Advises the Director of Surveillance on all current and future projects in the absence of the Technical Manager.
• Position involves extensive periods of walking, bending and standing.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, and ABILITY:

Must be able to access areas of installation of surveillance equipment (ceilings, attics, crawl spaces, etc…); and working knowledge of computer software programs.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

Education: Electronics background or equivalent work experience preferred.

Experience: One (1) year in surveillance systems providing maintenance, repair and installation of video cassette recorders, video monitors, video cameras, pan/tilt motor and gears, system processors and controls, and system peripheral equipment.
