Job summary

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in surveillance, strong knowledge of table games rules, and proficiency with surveillance software and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Three years of practical surveillance experience; supervisory experience preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of all table games rules, procedures, and gaming regulations.
• Working knowledge of surveillance software and Microsoft Office programs such as Excel and Word.
• Knowledge of surveillance equipment.
• Must have knowledge of state regulations, departmental procedures and company policies.
• Effective communicator and able to maintain order in escalated situations.
• Must be able to sit and remain alert for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Observe gaming and non-gaming activity by monitoring surveillance equipment to ensure compliance with applicable laws, procedures, regulations and rules and protect company assets from illegal or questionable activities.
• Detect cheating, theft, embezzlement, illegal activities and procedure/policy violations in all areas of responsibility.
• Prepare reports and verbally communicate occurrences to the Surveillance Manager, Director and/or department heads as required.
• Compile and maintain evidence to assist the property or Boyd Gaming Corporation in legal actions, employment matters and arbitration/grievance proceedings.
• Know how to operate all equipment used by the Surveillance Department and utilize them to their fullest capacity.
• Review coverage completed by agents and have additional coverage added when needed.
• Assign tasks to agents on a daily basis when needed.
• Train, coach, discipline, supervise and handle scheduling of department employees.
• Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of surveillance equipment.
• Must have knowledge of state regulations, departmental procedures and companypolicies.
• Must be an effective communicator and able to maintain proper order in escalatedsituations.
• Must be able to sit and remain alert for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary licenses and/or certificationsand/or licenses.
