Job summary

LUMA Energy seeks a Surveillance Operator to monitor CCTV and electronic access control, report incidents, and investigate security events. The role focuses on maintaining situational awareness of critical infrastructure to deter, detect, delay, and respond to security incidents.

This position involves handling confidential information with discretion and integrity. All work schedules are eight-hour rotating shifts: mornings, evenings, and nights.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on IT computer technician experience.
• General knowledge of CCTV and access control software and configurations.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (read, write, speak).
• Associate degree or IT certification preferred.

Job Summary:

The Surveillance Operator is responsible to operate, monitor, report, and investigate incidents captured in the Closed Caption Television (CCTV) and electronic access control systems. Focuses on maintaining situational awareness of critical infrastructure to deter, detect, delay, and respond to physical security incidents.

This role will handle confidential and sensitive information and is expected to demonstrate a high degree of personal integrity and discretion while maintaining confidentiality in daily endeavors.

All work schedules are available and established for eight (8) hours rotating shifts: mornings, evenings, and nights.

Job Description:

• Operate, monitor, report, and investigate incidents captured in the Closed Caption Television (CCTV) and electronic access control systems.
• Knowledgeable on the operational procedures to initiate internal and external notifications for physical security incidents and troubleshooting aspects that support the CCTV and electronic access control capabilities to include general knowledge on software and configurations.
• Initiates trouble tickets for repairs of end user devices and connectivity, specific to the CCTV and electronic access control configurations.
• Ensures compliance with applicable processes, procedures, quality standards, polices and regulations.
• Maintain situational awareness of critical infrastructure to deter, detect, delay, and respond to physical security incidents.
• Initiate internal and external notifications for physical security incidents using the guidelines for handling alerts at different levels of events that are reported.
• Responsible for keeping the work area clean and organized.
• Annotate electronically any activities that arise during work shift.
• Follows all policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Perform emergency management work and associated drills as assigned.

Additional Job Description:

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma
• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience as information technology computer technician
• General knowledge of software and configurations to troubleshoot CCTV and electronic access control equipment and applications.
• Knowledgeable in the English and Spanish languages (read, speak, and write) with the ability to communicate effective and promptly in either language as required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels of the organization and with external parties as required.
• Associate's degree or Certification on Information Technology/Computers from an accredited university or college is preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:

• Valid driver's license in Puerto Rico
