Job summary

PENN Entertainment in Lake Charles is seeking a Surveillance Officer to monitor and safeguard casino assets, observe gaming activities, and report irregularities. The role requires a high school diploma, a background in video or electronics, and excellent written and verbal English communication.

You will work within a dynamic team to uphold security standards and confidentially manage information. Initial placement in the salary range aligns with experience, with a total rewards package

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Background in video or electronics strongly preferred; prior casino and support service experience is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be fluent and literate in English.
• Thorough knowledge of casino games and operations preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of casino cheating, scams, card counting, and player evaluations preferred.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels.
• Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive and strategic approach to dealing with issues.

Responsibilities

• Observe and report any game violations and/or thefts.
• Operate monitor room equipment; monitor SiS System to safeguard assets.
• Maintain video surveillance of the casino and related areas; record irregular activity as required.
• Maintain logs and write reports as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with gaming regulations, policies, and procedures.

• Adheres to all departmental and property policies and procedures regarding guest service standards. - Responsible for physical and video surveillance of the activities of customers and employees in all gaming and money handling areas. - Observes and reports any and all gaming violations and/or thefts of company property. - Operates monitor room equipment, including basic computer functions; monitors slot equipment of SiS System to provide security for company assets and funds. - Maintains video surveillance of the entire casino (e.g., Gaming Floor, Race/Sports Book, Food and Beverage outlets, cashiers, Count Rooms, parking lots, hotel/casino complex, etc.); records any irregular activity as required. - Participates in court actions relating to gaming violations. - Learns all games in use at the property, and all procedures and cheating indicators of those games; learns and uses various card count systems. - Maintains paper and video logs according to departmental and company procedures; writes reports as necessary. - Maintains thorough knowledge of and ensures compliance with gaming regulations, company policy, and departmental procedures. - Reports and offers solutions for any area of vulnerability to loss from internal or external sources. - Responds to surveillance supervision and gaming control requests, as well as all other departments when necessary. - Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned. - Maintains strict confidentiality in all company matters.
