Job summary

FTAI Aviation seeks an Inspector to perform inspections and disassembly/repair of civil aviation jet engine parts in a shop environment. You will follow manufacturer data, maintain calibration, and ensure records support return-to-service decisions. Strong attention to detail and English language proficiency are required.

Leading a small team, you will coordinate inspections, interpret OEM manuals, and uphold regulatory standards for safe, compliant maintenance operations at our Miami site.

Qualifications

  • Candidate must have high attention to detail and the ability to communicate inspection priorities clearly.
  • Must understand English and regulatory requirements governing aircraft engine maintenance.
  • Experience leading a team in jet engine maintenance is required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections in accordance with manufacturer instructions and FAA/DOT standards.
  • Disassemble and repair jet engine parts and assist with reconditioning of equipment.
  • Maintain proper calibration, record-keeping, and compliance for return-to-service approvals.
  • Interpret OEM manuals and routing instructions and ensure safety and quality.

Job description

JOB OVERVIEW

The Inspector articles in accordance with the current technical data provided in the manufacturer’s instructions for continued airworthiness service bulletins, service letters for performing preliminary hidden-damage, in process and final inspections on civil aviation on aviation airworthiness directives, government and industry standard practices and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring that they are thoroughly familiar with the inspection methods, techniques, aids, tools and equipment used within their assigned area of responsibility.
  • Maintaining proficiency in using the inspection aids in their assigned area of responsibility Understanding the current specifications involving inspection aids, used to perform inspections are in proper working order and the proper calibration information is affixed.
  • Ensuring that the inspection tools and equipment, including inspection aids, used to perform inspections are in proper working order and the proper calibration information is affixed.
  • Understand the current specifications involving inspection tolerances, limitations and procedures established by the manufacturer of the article being inspected and must understand, speak and write the English language.
  • Ensure all inspections are properly performed and recorded, and all records are properly executes before final approval for return to service of articles maintained or altered by this repair station.
  • Perform disassembly and repair of all types of aircraft engine usable parts
  • Assist with the reconfiguration or reconditioning of equipment
  • Perform scripted test procedures to isolate failure to sub-assembly and/or component level
  • Successfully replace failed sub-assembly, part, or component to bring failed device to working order
  • Perform scripted repair procedure to repair and functionally test part or product
  • Assist Repair technicians/Engineers/Technical Services as required
  • Maintain constant adherence to inventory control practices and procedures
  • Interpret OEM manuals and routers instructions
Qualifications:
  • High School or equivalent and basic computer skills
  • Airframe and/or Powerplant license
  • Must possess exceptional attention to detail and proficiency in the inspection methods, techniques, aids, tools, and equipment used in aircraft jet engine maintenance.
  • 3 – 5 years experience in a lead role for an aircraft jet engine maintenance.
  • Experienced with borescope inspection and interpretation of technical data during the borecope process.
  • Familiar with all regulatory requirements that govern the maintenance of aircraft jet engine.
  • Must be able to communicate Inspection Priorities to inspection personnel in a clear and concise manner.
  • Be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S
  • Pass pre-employment drug testing per FAA/DOT regulations. NOTE: This position is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
Job Demands:

Work is performed in a Shop environment and requires the ability to perform extensive standing, driving, walking, and climbing; to lift up to 50lbs. regularly; to manipulate up to 100lbs. with assistance. Must be able to bend, stoop, climb to reach materials, and work in a noisy environment.
