Job summary

Kalshi in New York is seeking a Surveillance Analyst to protect market integrity by monitoring real-time trading activity, investigating anomalies, and evolving our surveillance framework. You will partner with engineering, compliance, and risk to design and implement improvements, analyze complex datasets with Python and SQL, and report findings clearly to internal and regulatory stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 0–4 years of experience in market surveillance, compliance, risk, or a related role in financial services.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL, including building notebooks, analyses, and data pipelines.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Monitor real-time trading activity across Kalshi’s markets using surveillance tools and data analytics.
• Design, implement, and continuously improve surveillance approaches to detect market manipulation, insider trading, and other abusive or fraudulent behavior.
• Conduct in-depth investigations into anomalous or suspicious trading patterns, documenting findings and escalating when appropriate.
• Identify emerging risks and vulnerabilities in the trading environment and help develop mitigation strategies.
• Partner with engineering to improve surveillance systems, data pipelines, and analytical tooling.
• Produce clear, thorough reports on surveillance activity, trends, and investigations; maintain documentation of procedures and controls.
