Job summary

MaineHealth Surgical Care and Wound Care - Damariscotta is hiring a Medical Assistant to support providers by rooming patients, taking vitals, and updating records. You will help track preventive care quality measures and handle patient calls, contributing to quality patient care.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and MA credentials with 160 hours of clinical training or equivalent, plus certification and BLS within 30 days of start.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred; multiple pathways to Medical Assisting credential.
• Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification required; BLS within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Room patients with the provider and obtain vital signs.
• Reconcile the medical record and track preventative care quality measures.
• Return patient calls and support care coordination.
• Support team focus and contribute to a positive practice culture.
