Job summary

MaineHealth Surgical Care and Wound Care - Damariscotta is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team. The position supports providers with rooming, taking vital signs, reconciling the medical record, and promoting patient wellness in a 30-hour-per-week schedule.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, MA program credentials, and CPR/BLS. A sign-on bonus is offered: $0–$4,000 for 0–1 years experience; $0–$5,000 for 1+ years, prorated for part-time roles.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED preferred, plus MA program with 160 hours of clinical experience or equivalent.
• Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
• Experience as Medical Assistant preferred, strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Room patients with a provider and obtain vital signs.
• Reconcile the medical record and track preventive care quality measures.
• Return patient calls and support care coordination.
