Job summary

Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists Miami is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join the Surgery team in Miami, FL. The role involves assisting surgeons, preparing patients for procedures, and maintaining sterile environments. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• CVT/LVT/RVT licensure is preferred but not required.
• 1-2 years of clinical experience in a specialty service is required.
• Surgery and anesthesia experience is highly preferred.
• An AVMA-accredited program or equivalent education/experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality care and educate clients.
• Assist surgeons to maximize productivity and maintain patient flow.
• Prepare patients for surgery including assessments, IV placement, and anesthesia prep.
• Monitor anesthesia and vital signs during procedures.
• Maintain sterile environments and instrument care.
• Document medical records in hospital systems.
• Communicate treatment plans and Thrive Membership options to clients.
• Mentor team members and contribute to positive hospital culture.

Skills

CVT/LVT/RVT licensure (preferred)

1-2 years clinical experience

Surgery and anesthesia experience

AVMA-accredited program preferred

Education

AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program preferred
