Job summary

PetVet Care Centers' Olympia Pet Emergency is seeking a Surgical Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in daily tasks, from preparing surgery suites to restraining and handling patients.

The role involves clinical duties, patient transport, medication administration, and maintaining medical records in a fast-paced emergency setting in Olympia, WA. Prior surgical/anesthesia exposure is preferred, with full-time on-site work included.

Qualifications

• Age 18+ and HS diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year surgical dept experience or high-risk anesthesia experience.
• Enrolled in accredited licensure program may qualify after two semesters.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients.
• Greet and assist clients, record patient information.
• Triage, perform exams, and assist with medications per LVTs/DVMs.
• Operate and maintain hospital equipment (EKG, monitors, etc.).
• Fill prescriptions, document medications and handling of controlled drugs.
• Maintain medical records and hospital cleanliness.
