Pacific Veterinary Clinic in Grants Pass, Oregon is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team with a strong focus on surgery, anesthesia, and dental procedures. You will support the clinical team, perform dental prophylaxis and radiography, and maintain precise surgical records in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.

This role requires 2+ years of veterinary assistant experience, proficiency in venipuncture, anesthesia monitoring, and dental care.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of experience as veterinary assistant or related role.
• Proficiency in safe animal handling for dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments.
• Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and patient care principles.
• Experience with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and laboratory sample collection.
• Familiarity with surgical preparation, instrument handling, and maintaining a clean surgical environment.
• Experience assisting with anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery.
• Experience with dental procedures and dental radiography.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients, equipment, and treatment areas for procedures.
• Monitor patients throughout anesthesia and recovery.
• Perform dental prophylaxis and dental radiography.
• Maintain accurate surgical and treatment records.
• Guide clients through patient admission and discharge with confidence and compassion.
• Support efficient workflow by anticipating the needs of patients and the veterinary team.
