Job summary

Texas Health Resources seeks a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for the General Surgical Unit in Denton, TX. This fast-paced unit emphasizes teaching and growth, with self-scheduling to support work-life balance.

You will assist in plan-of-care execution, adapt to diverse patient needs, and collaborate with nurses to ensure safe, compassionate care. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, TX EMT or CNA/PCT training, and CPI/BCLS certifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CLIAFE compliance as applicable.
• Current TX CNA or PCT training with recognized certs.
• EMT certification for TX is a plus.
• Military medical training acceptable or equivalent.
• 1 year PCT experience preferred.
• Nursing student who completed fundamentals may qualify.
• CPI training required within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care according to plan of care.
• Collect patient data and report significant findings to nurse.
• Assist in admission/transfer/discharge.
• Support activities of daily living and patient comfort.
• Perform procedures safely and accurately.
• Document actions and outcomes.
• Adapt care to patient population in collaboration with nurse.
• Incorporate patient religious and cultural needs in care delivery.
• Maintain a safe and clean patient environment.
• Anticipate patient/family needs and respond promptly.
