Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Surgical Trauma ICU. This Level I trauma center offers full-time night and rotating shifts (36 hours per week) with a sign-on bonus up to $20,000 for qualified applicants.

The RN provides nursing care following the nursing process, focusing on patient safety, education, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to meet complex care needs.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required).
• BLS required within 90 days of hire.
• Minimum of 1 year emergency, intermediate care, intensive care or med/surg nursing.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Demonstrate professional performance including ethics, communication, collaboration and education.
• Coordinate care with the healthcare team and provide patient promotion and education.
