Job summary

Atrium Health Navicent in Macon, GA is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Surgical Trauma ICU, a 14-bed unit specializing in postoperative and trauma care. This full-time role offers a 36-hour work week and a shift of 7a start, with opportunities in professional development.

You will apply the nursing process, collaborate with the care team, document in the EHR, and uphold safety standards while pursuing education such as the Critical Care Academy.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a board-approved nursing program.
• Active RN license with multi-state compact and/or state privileges.
• Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
• BSN preferred for this role.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives.
• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement and evaluate care.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, and collaborates with the team.
• Upholds a culture of safety and participates in continuous improvement.
• Float to other units as needed within the service area.
• Document accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Provide age-appropriate care and communicate with patients/families.
• Delegate appropriately to team members and supervise tasks.
• Support professional development and maintain required certifications.
• Adhere to ANA Code of Ethics and ethical decision-making.
