Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking Patient Care Technicians for the Surgical & Trauma Care Unit (3RC) within MSS. This role supports nursing staff in delivering patient-centered care for surgical and trauma patients on a 36-hour per week schedule at Iowa City, IA.

Responsibilities include recording vital signs, assisting with admissions and transfers, and helping with hygiene and comfort. The position offers a merit pay plan and on-campus work with benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Independently record vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
• Performs phlebotomy, IV removal and catheter care as directed.
• Assist with admission, transfers and discharges.
• Provide personal hygiene and comfort for patients.
• Stock and prepare equipment and supplies for procedures.
