Job summary

Veterans in Healthcare is seeking an RN to cover 12-hour night shifts in a Surgical Telemetry unit in Los Angeles, CA. The RN will use the nursing process to provide therapeutic patient care, coordinate education for patients and families, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

Qualifications include BSN, CA RN license, BLS, and ACLS with potential obligation to obtain ACLS within 180 days for applicable departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) is required.
• Current RN license for California (CA Board of RN) is required.
• ACLS certification required; if department demands, must obtain within 180 days.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care per the nursing process and standards.
• Administers medications and IV therapies per policy.
• Assesses patient condition and documents care plans and outcomes.
• Coordinates discharge planning and education with patients and families.
• Communicates with healthcare team and documents shifts and rounds.
• Ensures patient safety and regulatory compliance across the unit.
