The instructor is responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality instruction, engaging in program improvement processes, and participating in various institutional and student affairs initiatives. This position requires a proactive and dedicated approach to student success, including

Qualifications

• Graduate of an education program in surgical technology accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency.
• Credential in surgical technology through a national certification program accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
• CST license.
• Minimum 2 years experience as OR scrub or instructor in surgical technology within past 5 years.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider.
• Degrees from accredited institutions; non-U.S. degrees recognized if equivalence established.
• Instructors must hold required certificates, licenses, and registrations for the courses they teach.

Responsibilities

• Prepares lessons and course materials aligned with curriculum and accreditation requirements.
• Delivers instruction using varied teaching methods to support diverse learning styles.
• Maintains a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
• Provides academic advising, tutoring, and office hours.
• Participates in student orientation and career services events.
• Regularly assesses student learning outcomes and contributes to program improvement.
• Collaborates with colleagues to support student success and program growth.
• Ensures compliance with accreditation standards and proper documentation.
• Mentors new faculty and supports program development.
