Qualifications

• Associate degree and education program in surgical technology from an accredited program.
• CST certification and BLS for healthcare provider.
• Minimum 2 years experience in operating room scrub or as an instructor in surgical technology within the past 5 years.
• Possess a credential in surgical technology through a national certification program accredited by NCCA.

Responsibilities

• Delivers course material in accordance with college curriculum.
• Fulfils administrative requirements for each course including attendance, SLO assessment data, posting grades in a timely manner and outreach to students.
• Participates in program improvement processes such as program review, assessment, design, and evaluation.
• Demonstrates willingness to develop proficiency in all applicable learning methodologies through continuous improvement.
• Ensures the program adheres to institutional, governmental and accreditation standards.
• Engages in industry advisory councils and faculty councils for program support.
• Builds networks within local industry for programmatic support.
• Supports student services activities and outreach; provides advisement and tutoring.
• Mentors new faculty and participates in master instruction mentoring program.
• Ensures equipment and books adhere to Standard Equipment/List and Book List.
