Job summary

Temple College is seeking an Adjunct Professor to teach courses in Surgical Technology and to supervise student skill performance in class, clinical, or simulation lab settings. The role may include distance education aligned with Allied Health Professions.

The incumbent will evaluate student work, administer exams, and contribute to program development. A valid credential in surgical technology and related education credentials are required; two years' recent experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Be effective in teaching and knowledgeable in subject matter as documented by credentials, education, and experience.
• Graduate of an education program in surgical technology accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES.
• Possess a credential in surgical technology through a national certification program accredited by NCCA.
• Have a minimum total of two years of OR scrub or instructional experience in surgical technology within the past five years.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and grade students' assignments and activities as appropriate to the discipline.
• Administer, compile, and grade examinations as assigned.
• Develop and teach assigned classes in keeping with syllabi, outlines, and instructional materials.
• Supervise and evaluate student performance in simulated and clinical environments.
• Demonstrate professional written and oral communication with students.
• Maintain accessibility to students for advisement and consultation.
• Attend conferences, workshops, or programs to enhance professional growth.
