Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Surgical Technology or related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• 3–5 years of experience working as a surgical technologist in a clinical setting.
• 2–3 years of prior teaching experience in a higher education or technical school setting.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in the Surgical Technology Program, including lecture and lab components on anatomy, physiology, surgical procedures, sterile technique, and patient safety.
• Provide academic and professional guidance to students, ensuring proper training in surgical techniques and equipment during lab sessions.
• Collaborate with local healthcare facilities to arrange student clinical rotations and internships.
• Assist in reviewing and updating the curriculum, participating in program assessment and accreditation activities as required.
• Stay current with advancements in surgical technology and health sciences; participate in faculty meetings and professional development.
• Maintain relationships with local dental practices, professional organizations, and community stakeholders to secure clinical placement opportunities.
• Ensure program compliance with state, federal, and institutional policies; submit required reports including accreditation updates and licensure pass rates.
• Participate in college professional development activities, advising students, and serving on committees.
