What You Will Do

1. Provide safe, efficient, age-specific nursing care to patients and families using nursing interventions to help them attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health.
2. Provide patient care and function in a primary scrub position.
3. Assist with technical responsibilities in assigned operative procedures.
4. Ensure that appropriate instruments and supplies are present and in proper working condition.
5. Provide labeled medications with correct doses on the sterile field.
6. Support the operative team, including following patient care handoff protocols.
7. Actively participate in quality improvement processes.
8. Engage in learning and self-improvement activities.

Additional Responsibilities

• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all policies and standards.
• Refer to departmental documentation during orientation for specific duties and responsibilities.
• Maintain compliance with requirements to securely handle Protected Health Information (PHI), including annual training, adherence to the UH Code of Conduct, and UH policies and procedures regarding PHI.
