Job summary

LiveWell Homecare Agency is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist surgeons during procedures, maintain aseptic technique, and manage surgical supplies and documentation.

You will prepare operating rooms, support timeouts, handle specimens and dressings, and assist with admission/discharge. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, participate in quality control, and support on-call rotations as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Specialty Training Program in Surgical Technology with certification within 6 months if recent.
• Excellent knowledge of aseptic techniques, surgical procedures, and safety protocols.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures across all ages, coordinating treatments with multidisciplinary teams.
• Prepare operating rooms, connect clinical equipment, and practice aseptic techniques such as scrubbing, gowning, gloving, and draping.
• Participate in surgical timeouts, verify surgical site, and maintain accurate counts of supplies.
• Handle specimens, dispose of sharps, and apply sterile dressings as instructed.
• Assess wounds, participate in patient admission/discharge, and support emergency procedures.
• Perform billing, participate in on-call rotations, and act as a preceptor for students.
• Adhere to policies, perform quality control, and support additional duties like specimen collection and patient transport.
