Job summary

LiveWell Homecare Agency, LLC is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist surgeons during procedures, maintain sterile technique, and uphold patient safety in the operating room.

You will prepare operating rooms, set up instruments, monitor wounds, and manage specimens while supporting admission, discharge, and on‑call rotations.

Additionally, you will act as a preceptor for students, ensure compliance with policies, and participate in quality control and documentation.

Qualifications

• CST certification or PA Act 80 exemption required.
• Graduate of Specialty Training Program.
• Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques, surgical protocols, and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures across age groups, coordinating treatments and patient support.
• Prepare operating rooms via aseptic techniques, set up instruments, and verify surgical sites.
• Maintain supply counts, manage specimens, and dispose of sharps and linens safely.
• Monitor wounds, change dressings, and assess patient conditions.
• Participate in safety protocols, emergencies, and clinical documentation.
• Serve as a preceptor for students and ensure policy compliance.
• Support admission, discharge, and post‑mortem care; assist with patient transport.
• Engage in on‑call rotations and set‑ups for special procedures.

Role:

Surgical Technologist responsible for assisting surgeons during procedures, maintaining sterile techniques, and ensuring patient safety.

Key Duties:

• Assist in surgical procedures across all age groups, coordinating treatments and providing patient support.
• Prepare operating rooms by practicing aseptic techniques, setting up instruments, and verifying surgical sites.
• Maintain accurate supply counts, manage specimens, and dispose of sharps and linens properly.
• Monitor wounds, change sterile dressings, and assess patient conditions.
• Participate in safety protocols, emergency responses, and documentation, including billing and specimen handling.
• Act as a preceptor for students, adhere to policies, and perform quality control activities.
• Support admission, discharge, and post‑mortem care, and assist with patient transport as needed.
• Engage in on‑call rotations requiring prompt response and perform additional duties like set‑up for special procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification or exemption as per PA Act 80.
• Graduate of a Specialty Training Program.
• Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques, surgical protocols, and patient care.
• Ability to work in a team, follow policies, and respond effectively in emergencies.
