Job summary

St. Tammany Health System is seeking a Surgical Technologist/LPN to assist the surgical team by passing instruments, sponges, and sutures with strict sterile technique. The role supports patient safety and procedural efficiency under RN supervision.

Candidates should have a Surgical Technology program background; OR experience is preferred, CST certification is a plus, and current BLS through ILCOR‑affiliated courses is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program; one year OR experience preferred.
• Strong communication and decision‑making skills are required.
• CST certification is preferred.
• Current BLS certification through ILCOR or equivalent courses with manikin check‑off is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgical team by anticipating needs and passing instruments, sponges and sutures.
• Maintain sterile technique and ensure OR equipment readiness.
• Support the surgeon and team to promote patient safety and efficient procedures.
