Job summary

UCHealth in Aurora, CO, is seeking a Surgical Assistant/Surgical Technologist for the UCHlth Anschutz Inpt Pavilion in Colorado. This full-time night-shift role offers 72 hours per pay period with a $44.00 per hour pay plus travel package.

Responsibilities include prepping the operating room, passing instruments, maintaining sterility, and specimen handling; requires high school diploma, DORA registration, BLS, and 1 year experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (military training accepted).
• State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration (DORA).
• 1 year of experience in a surgical setting.
• BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross) valid through hire date + 60 days after.

Responsibilities

• Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies.
• Ensures equipment and instruments are in good working order; assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Passes instruments to physician during surgery and tracks instruments and supplies.
• Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED or Military Trained
• State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration (needs be through DORA)
• 1 year experience
• BLS - BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
