Job Summary

A member of the healthcare team who functions under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and performs a variety of technical and supportive functions to assist with patient care throughout their perioperative phase, following hospital standards, policies, protocols, and procedures. Direct care staff are required to complete all Hip and Knee Replacement Program curriculum and annual education modules.

Job Requirements

• Education: Required: Graduate from a school of Surgical Technology or 5 years’ experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• Experience: Preferred: Previous hospital and/or work experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work independently and in teams; strong analytical/problem-solving skills; flexibility to work in a multi-tasking, fast-paced environment; ability to maintain personal effectiveness in rapidly changing situations.
• Licensure/Certification/Registration: Required: BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days and maintained throughout employment.
