Job summary

LeConte Medical Center, part of Covenant Health, is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to support surgical teams in the day shift.

The role emphasizes maintaining a sterile field, assisting surgeons before, during, and after procedures, and ensuring instruments and supplies are readily available.

Candidates must hold CST or TS-C certification and be able to work under supervision in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold CST or TS-C certification.
• Experience maintaining sterile field and assisting surgeons.
• Ability to work under RN/MD supervision and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Plans, sets up, performs and cleans up the surgical procedure as circulator or scrub tech.
• Maintains instrument and equipment integrity; handles room turnover and cleaning.
• Maintains asepsis and sterile technique in scrubbing, gowning, gloving and setup.
• Assists in counts and proper counting techniques for all countables.
• Demonstrates proper positioning techniques and protective measures.
• Follows policies and participates in quality improvement initiatives.
