Job Description: Surgical Technologist

Work under the direct supervision of a Clinician to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures. Coordinate instrumentation, equipment, and supplies to ensure proper use and availability for quality patient service. Perform advanced tasks in an operating room to assist the surgical team across at least three surgical specialties. Responsibilities include arranging sterile setups, passing instruments, preparing supplies, assisting in cleanup, and checking equipment and supplies.

Sign-On Bonus: We offer generous Sign-On Bonuses based on experience and commitment length (2 or 3 years). Bonuses range from $10,000 to $25,000 depending on experience and commitment period. Final placement will be based on experience and education.

Responsibilities:

• Teach skill and theoretical principles to new employees and students.
• During surgery, pass instruments and supplies, hold retractors, cut sutures, and assist with sponge and needle counts.
• Manage repairs, ordering, and maintenance of supplies and equipment related to the specialty service.
• Prepare the operating room by setting up instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies.
• Demonstrate problem-solving skills to improve OR functions.
• Supervise surgical technicians, serve as Lead, and teach new staff and students.
• Prepare patients for surgery, assist with positioning and sterile draping, and help with gowning and gloving.
• Assist with specimen handling, dressings, and support cost containment.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of specific or multiple surgical specialties.
• Communicate effectively with the surgical team and other departments, and identify process improvements.
• Ensure medication labeling, assist with patient transfer, and maintain a sterile, safe environment.
• Precept students and new employees, serving as a resource for staff.
