Job summary

Indiana University Health's Arnett Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist for a part-time weekend option, offering 2 twelve-hour shifts with opportunities to pick up during the week. You will float between the main hospital and the surgery center, gaining diverse experience in Robotic, Cardiovascular, Orthopedic, GYN, Urology and General services.

Requires NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist within four months, BLS, and 15 CEUs annually.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist within four months of employment.
Basic Life Support Certification required.
Ability to resource advanced technology.
15 continuing education units annually as required by state law.
Knowledge of various surgical procedures to anticipate needs within 12 months.
Knowledge of surgical equipment names and functions.
Strict adherence to sterile field policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

Provide service and support before, during, and after surgical procedures.
Ensure presence and proper arrangement of surgical equipment, supplies and instrumentation in the OR prior to each operation.
Assist the surgeon in the operating room as allowed by professional and legal standards.
Support turnover of the operating room after procedures and processing of specimens, equipment, instrumentation and supplies.
Work as part of the surgical team with surgeons, anesthesiologists, RNs and other personnel.
