Job summary

Indiana University Health in Indiana is seeking a part-time Surgical Skilled Technologist to support the operating room team before, during, and after procedures. You will help ensure the presence and proper arrangement of equipment, supplies and instrumentation for each operation and assist the surgeon as allowed.

This role requires a High School Diploma or GED, NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist within four months of employment, BLS, and ongoing CEU compliance; familiarity with sterile

Qualifications

• Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA) within four months of employment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Ability to resource advanced technology.
• Complete 15 CEUs annually as required by state law.
• Knowledge of various surgical procedures to anticipate surgeon needs within 12 months.
• Knowledge of surgical equipment and instrumentation names and functions.
• Strict adherence to policies for sterile field maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and position equipment, supplies, and instrumentation before operations.
• Assist the surgeon in the operating room as allowed by standards.
• Support OR turnover after procedures, including specimen, equipment, and supply processing.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other surgical staff as a team.
