Job summary

The Surgery Center of Fort Lauderdale, part of United Surgical Partners International, is seeking a Surgical Technologist Scrub Tech to join the operating room team. The role supports sterile technique, prepares supplies and equipment, and assists with patient care during procedures.

You will scrub on various procedures, maintain sterility, and collaborate with surgeons, nurses and staff. Strong teamwork, communication and aseptic technique are essential; ambulatory center experience is

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; completion of a Surgical Technician Program or equivalent.
• State/center certification as required.
• Experience in ambulatory surgical center preferred.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and aseptic techniques.
• Teamwork and effective communication with staff, patients, and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs for surgical procedures as a member of the surgical team and maintains competence.
• Maintains a sterile field during surgical procedures and prepares supplies.
• Prepares instruments and equipment for procedures; supports quality improvement activities.

The Surgical Technologist scrubs for surgical procedures and demonstrates competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team. Maintains a sterile field during surgical procedures. Prepares supplies, instruments, and equipment related to these procedures. Supports the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the Surgery Center. Supports and participates in quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED; completion of a Surgical Technician Program and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Certification as required by state and/or center
• Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center is strongly preferred
• Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
• Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
• Must excel in teamwork and possess strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff, engage with patients, and coordinate with physicians
